Photoshop actions

I have been into photoshop, digital image processing for almost a year now. Havent mastered either the digital SLR or photoshop processing yet. But I love to play with actions (packaged set of photoshop process) and vain enough to think that being a IT professional I CAN master this art given enough time!

I have a Canon Rebel but use it like a point-and-shoot (so far! I know its a shame and plan to change this soon) and use Photoshop 7 (CS3 is expensive!)
